ADAPAR [Domene/Pérez]

2

Álvaro Domene (guitarist, composer, sound designer) and saxophonist‑composer Álvaro Pérez have reconvened to deliver the second entry in their ADAPAR series, merging avant‑garde jazz with the raw power of metal.

After their self‑titled debut, which critic Andrey Henkin of the Brooklyn Rail called “thirty‑five minutes of unfettered brutality,” the new record thrusts listeners into an even more volcanic soundscape.

ADAPAR 2 expands on the first album’s off‑kilter, asymmetrical structures, delivering far heavier, fiercer, and more relentless material, a feat that seemed unlikely before the record arrived. Domene’s meticulous production, intricate programming, and inventive guitar work intertwine with Pérez’s frantic saxophone lines.

Each track erupts with soaring saxes, scorching guitars, pounding drums, and a defiantly subversive spirit. ADAPAR 2 proves that jazz and metal can coexist without diluting and sacrificing the core of either genre. Metal functions organically within the composition, not ornamentally.

With this second outing, the ADAPAR project pushes further into uncharted territory across jazz, metal, and experimental music in the 21st century. Play loud!
